wind turbines

The wind turbine is a system which transforms the kinetic energy in the sun into mechanic energy at first and then into electric energy. A wind turbine is generally composed of a tower, generator, speed converters (gear box), electric - electronic elements and a rotor. The kinetic energy of the wind is converted into mechanic energy in the rotor. The rotary motion of the rotor mill is accelerated and conveyed to the generator in the body. The electric energy obtained from the generators are stored by means of the batteries or delivered to the receivers directly. The wind turbines with a horizontal axis may be used as connected to a network or without connection to a network. The wind turbines with a connection to a network are generally for high power uses. Together with the recent developments, the power obtained from a single turbine may increase up to 5MW per hour. The turbines without a network connection are generally used for more small scale requirements.

solar panels

Solar panel converts the sunlight directly into electricity. The photovoltaic (PV) cells are made of semi-conductive materials. The structure of the solar panels includes the silicium, which is a semi-conductor. When the sunlight absorbed by these materials, the electrons are separated from their atoms and are released in the material, thus electricity current generates. The conversion of the photons into electricity (voltage) is called photovoltaic effect. The panels can generate significant amount of electric energy even under cloudy weather. The solar panels are built by assembly of many solar cells on a surface connection to each other in parallels or serials. There are various types of solar panels in polycrystalline, mono-crystalline and fine film depending on the structure of the cell type, which is used.

solar cells

The solar cells are the semi-conductive materials which converts the sunlight reaching to their surfaces into electric energy directly. The area of the solar panels, which are shaped in the form of a square, rectangle or circle, is generally about 100 cm² and their thickness is between 0,2 - 0,4 mm. The solar panels are operated based on the photovoltaic principle, which means that electric voltage is generated at their edges when sunlight reaches over them. The source of the electric energy rendered by the battery is the solar energy reaching to the surface. The solar energy may be converted into electric energy with an effectiveness level between 5% and 20% depending on the structure of the solar panel. The solar cells are gathered in certain voltage intervals and solar panels with the desired power are formed. Up today, the solar cells are used in the studies related to the Formula-G Solar Car Race participants and to the institutions with R&D activities.

batteries

Batteries enable the storage of electricity generated by solar and wind energy. The electricity generated by solar or wind energy are stored in the batteries to be used later. The batteries may reach to the desired capacity by serial or parallel connection and this capacity is adjusted in accordance with the desired autonomy level. There are many different types of batteries based on different usage requirements. The most advantageous batteries in the solar and wind energy systems are the full non-maintenance dry batteries in which special electrolytes are used.
There batteries render perfect performance on long term discharges. They are tolerated for high temperature applications. They have a design which protects the positive plates and therefore elongates the cyclic life. The feature of having thicker plates, which prevent rust, renders a longer life. It provides high performance because of low inner resistance. It can completely discharge the battery even if the battery is not charged completely.

charge regulators

The charge regulator is the equipment used for balancing the voltage value generated by the solar panel and wind turbine and controlling the battery charging operations. The most important point to be considered while selecting a regulator is the resistance of the regulator against the required maximum current. It should also be considered that the regulator selected is in compliance with the voltage of the battery used.
Digital charging control units have many advantageous features. Besides a perfect PWM regulation system with heat control, secure and programmable features also provide comfort to the users. The charging condition of the battery is clearly perceived by means of an indicator. In the same way, the battery and the energy flow from the battery can also be observed. The deep charging protection can be programmed in different manners.

solar pumps

If you want to water your fields, yards or gardens which are far from the network, the solar pump systems will create a clean and reliable alternative. The solar pumps, which you can select based on your watering requirements, operates with DC energy generated by the solar panels. By this way, you make a more economic use than the normal pumps. We can create the most ideal watering system according to the water amount you need and to the climate conditions of your region.

inverters

The current we use in batteries in our daily lives and which is storable is called the direct current (DC). The 12 or 24 Volt systems are used as a voltage widespread. The household devices such as washing machine, refrigerator and television are operated with the alternating current (AC) which cannot be stored. The inverters are the electronic devices used for converting the direct current into 220V alternating current. The exterior inverters enable all kinds of electricity device to operate without any problem, by converting the direct current they receive from battery storage of 12V or 24V into 220V alternating current. Based on the output power and output wave characteristics, there are types which are square wave, sinus wave and complete sinus wave. The full sinus inverter, which has the most appropriate features for alternative energy systems, gives outputs which has the same quality and even mostly with higher quality than the network electricity and does not create any problem during operation of the electric devices. Since many motor apparatus requires the power which is a few folds of the normal power consumption, the inverters, which are used, should have an operation feature with this power for shorter periods (surge capacity). Such type of inverters may be used especially for operating the precision electronic devices (such as laser printer, computer, etc.)
