The source of the wind energy is the sun. The temperature and pressure differences emerging because the solar energy does not heat the lands, seas and the atmosphere in the same degree in everywhere, creates the wind. 1-2% of the energy received from the sun is transformed into wind energy. The wind energy is the kinetic energy of the air flow constituting the wind. Some part of this energy may be transformed into mechanic or electricity energy which are beneficial.
The characteristics such as speed, direction and number of blowing hours of the wind are evaluated in the wind energy. The wind speed is important for the amount of the energy which can be transformed into electricity by a wind turbine.

The energy stations cannot cope with the natural conditions individually. Access to the stations is not always possible. Under these circumstances, the energy station should continue to produce energy uninterruptedly. This is possible only with the maintenance works to be carried out periodically. The periodical maintenance should be performed at least 4 times in a year, depending on the features of the system. By means of these maintenance operations, the systems can survive together with the nature even under harsh climate conditions.

Wind measurement should be performed in one or some points in the area where the wind turbine will be established. In case an installation of high powers will be performed, wind measurement is absolutely required for a true and reliable investment.
Wind measurement should be performed at least for 1 year for the evaluation of all kinds of seasonal conditions. The measurement should be performed at least 30 heights.

More than one energy resource is used for the Hybrid Systems. Hybrid systems are applied especially in the systems which require energy in both summer and in winter and which does not tolerate interruption.
Double or triple use of sun, wind and diesel energy resources are possible in hybrid systems. The type of the energy resource to be used is determined especially based on the climate conditions of the region.
