Solar panels turn the sunlight to
electricity directly. PV (photovoltaic) cells were rather frequently
used in calculators and clocks before. Photovoltaic cells are
produced from semiconductor material which is used in computer's
chips. When the sunlight is sorptioned by this semiconductor materials,
electrons in the atoms leave from the atoms and become free in
the material, in this way the current occurs.

The performance of a solar
cell is determined with its efficiency. The persentage of transforming
the energy that was taken into the used electricity is the most

the cell or reflected. So, a typical solar cell's efficiency
is about % 15 because of this. That is to say it can only transform
the taken energy into the electricity just one over six.
Low efficiency means that
demands of larger area and higher cost accordingly. So all the
studies are made to increase the efficiency of solar cells.
The first solar cell's efficiency that was made in 1950 was
